The range of data is just the difference between the largest and smallest data point. The interquartile range (IQR) is the found by throwing out the outliers and finding the range between the Q1 and Q3 quartiles of the data. The mean absolute deviation (MAD) is a measure of, on average, how far the data lies above and below the mean of the data set.
